The health care services our community depends on are at risk. The U.S. Senate is preparing to vote next week on legislation to repeal the ACA that includes deep permanent cuts to Medicaid. It is time to take action and raise our voices on behalf of the many children, women, seniors and individuals living with disabilities who depend on Medicaid in our community.
Join us at this Town Hall with Congressman Doggett, who has tirelessly fought to protect our care in the House. This public forum will highlight stories of people for whom Medicaid is their lifeline. Please help us raise awareness for those who are directly impacted by Medicaid and those who serve Medicaid populations.

How else can social workers contribute?
1) We need 15-20 volunteers. If you want to volunteer, or know of any students or colleagues who are interested please email Laura Guerra CardsLGuerraCar@childrensdefense.org from the Children’s Defense Fund if you can help with this and how many people you can bring. It helps to have a lot of people to capture stories and comments from the audience. (There will be a volunteer Prep Call on Friday, July 14 at 2 p.m. Call-in: 1.605.475.4000, code 330587)
2) Do you have any clients with a strong story about Medicaid? Have a story from the provider perspective? There will be time for 10 people to share their Medicaid story from the mic. Each speaker will get 3 minutes.
3) Help increase attendance at the event. Spread the word about the 16th, and encourage people to attend. The flyer is attached here for your convenience and the FB event page can be found here -- https://www.facebook.com/events/2302884613269979/. We have space for about 250 people and we want to fill every seat.
If you have any questions please feel free to email Will Francis at email@example.com. Thanks!
